Pride of Place - we need you and your memories of Norbiton
Preserve your memories in our virtual village
Maybe someone can remember when the Cambridge Road Estate was actually built in the 1960s. Were you in this newspaper clipping? And what about the Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977 - have you got any photos of the street parties?
We will set about scanning and uploading personal histories to a community website, and we are going to show you how to keep adding your stories to the virtual village we are building online.
We would like to document every decade from 1960 to the present day – scanning your photographs and recording you memories, so they can take pride of place in our history.
You can see some of of collection of photos to the left of this article. To view the collection follow this link to our Pride of Place Album set on Flickr
Listen to Marion talking about some of the pranks and antics of the printers she used to work in on Union Street. Then hear from Alma who has lived here for 53 years. There are many more stories like this on our Audio Boo site.
